Comprehensive prenatal care
starting at 8 weeks gestation, or at the initiation of care, through to the onset of spontaneous labor
24/7 on-call midwifery services
starting at 37 weeks through the onset of active labor
24/7 on-call services for emergencies during care
Continuous midwifery care starting in active labor
includes monitoring the health and well-being of both you and your baby through active labor and birth
immediate postpartum care for you and your baby for up to four hours after delivery
Newborn care
starting at birth through the first 6 weeks of life
includes: immediate care for the newborn at birth, complete newborn exam, blood typing (if indicated or desired), newborn metabolic screening, well-baby visits and exams, weight checks
birth certificate filing
Complete postpartum care
starting between 24 and 48 hours after delivery through to 6 weeks postpartum
routine postpartum screening and tests
One prenatal lactation planning class
discuss infant feeding goals, basic lactation information, and discuss any previous lactation concerns or risk factors with a Certified Lactation Professional

moving prior to their birth but are still in need of quality prenatal care
planning to birth unassisted at home but would like to have one or two prenatal check-ins
traveling from out of state or the area they are planning to deliver in and need prenatal care while visiting
undecided about where they want to deliver, but want quality prenatal care while they weigh their options.
Initial Visit
An initial visit is required for each new pregnancy and/or first appointment with the practice. All subsequent prenatal appointments for the same pregnancy can be scheduled as a routine prenatal visit. Initial prenatal visits last between 1.5 to 2 hours and include:
A complete history where we will discuss your medical history, reproductive health history, family and social history, and your pregnancy history
Client education and information tailored to your unique needs
Complete physical examination
Laboratory testing/screening will be offered as appropriate for gestational age, individual risk factors, and/or at your request**
Referrals as needed for collaborative and/or follow up care
Access to the patient portal along with a hard copy of your medical records for the visit
90 min | $200
Routine Prenatal
This prenatal care visit is offered for subsequent appointments after an initial visit has been done. Visits last between 45 minutes to an hour and include:
A brief check-in overviewing your medical and pregnancy history, assessing your individual needs and concerns, and outlining your goals and desired outcome for care
Client education and information tailored to your unique needs
Complete physical examination
Laboratory testing/screening will be offered as appropriate for gestational age, individual risk factors, and/or at your request**
Referrals as needed for collaborative and/or follow up care
Access to the patient portal along with a hard copy of your medical records for the visit
60 min | $150
**NOTE: All laboratory screenings and tests are submitted to LabCorp, which is a separate entity from Beltane Midwifery, PLLC. Clients are responsible for all associated fees billed by LabCorp for services rendered.
Prenatal Care Package
This package includes all routine prenatal care visits from 8 weeks/initiation of care through to the start of your labor all in the comfort of your home. It is the perfect solution for persons seeking the individualized care that the Midwifery Model is known for prenatally while planning on birthing in a hospital setting.
The Prenatal Care Package DOES NOT include labor, birth, or postpartum midwifery services.

Initial Postpartum Visit
An initial visit is required if this is your first appointment with our practice or a new pregnancy with our practice. If you had an á la carte prenatal appointment or packaged prenatal service you do not have to schedule an initial postpartum visit. Initial visits are between 1.5 and 2 hours long and include:
A complete history to include your medical history, reproductive health history, pregnancy history, and detailed overview of your birth and birth records
Client education and information tailored to your unique needs
Complete physical examination
Newborn examination and weight check
Lactation education and counseling
Laboratory testing/screening will be offered as appropriate for individual risk factors, and/or at your request**
Referrals as needed for collaborative and/or follow up care
Access to the patient portal along with a hard copy of your medical records for the visit

Routine Postpartum
Á la carte postpartum visits are perfect for individuals who wish to receive more frequent and/or comprehensive postpartum care than typically offered at traditional OB/GYN practices. Per Virginia state midwifery laws, postpartum appointments with a Certified Professional Midwife are only available through 6 weeks and 6 days after delivery. Postpartum appointments are between 45 minutes and an hour long and include:
Review of your prenatal, labor, and birth history
Client education and information tailored to your unique needs
Complete physical examination
Newborn examination and weight check
Lactation education and counseling
Laboratory testing/screening will be offered as appropriate for individual risk factors, and/or at your request**
Referrals as needed for collaborative and/or follow up care
Access to the patient portal along with a hard copy of your medical records for the visit
