Meagan is meant for this work.
Client testimonial for Meagan as a Primary Under Supervision midwifery student
"Meagan is meant for this work. Throughout our time in the care of River City Midwifery, Meagan provided us abundant support. She was a guide offering paths forward and alternatives when problem solving a concern no matter how big or small (black soap for eczema helped me so much!) and even helping us navigate life obstacles too when planning for postpartum life. Meagan was an ever present coach at my labor and birth— warm compresses to help guide my pushing, words of encouragement that still replay in my head, and helpful instructional guidance when I wasn’t sure what came next. When our immediate postpartum shifted and we prepped for a transfer, Meagan was a pillar of calm presence for us— she stayed by my baby’s side, checking in on my partner and ensuring once we had all gone that our home was put back together again with care which was a sigh of relief upon our return home. Her attentive and quiet nature makes being in her care feel easy and safe. I count myself lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Meagan and have her as a care provider in training. Her future clients will be incredibly lucky to have her!"

Testimonial for Meagan as a Primary Under Supervision midwifery student
To whom it may concern,
My name is Leah Dawang and I gave birth to my daughter, Bloom Dawang, through Colorado Birth and Wellness (CB&W) on August 8th, 2024. I had the sincere pleasure of meeting Meagan in my 32nd, 38th and 40th week prenatal appointments, in addition to having her at my birth. Each time she attended my appointments, she was everything you'd hope for (and expect) from a midwife — kind, empathetic, professional and informative.
What sets Meagan apart is her wisdom.
As we rounded into our 40 week appointment, I was beginning to 'try' to initiate or encourage labor. The leading midwife gave me some good tips and tricks toward that goal and then passed the question to Meagan for input. Meagan's first sentence was, "you can't chase your labor." It hit the just right place in my heart and mind and I realized she was entirely right. She then followed it up with the science — you need oxytocin for your body to go into labor. "Do things that make you feel good" she suggested. She gave me such permission and freedom to enjoy the tailend of my pregnancy which I happily exchanged for the lackluster and exhausting chasing I'd been doing.
We left that appointment and my husband reflected, "Meagan is wise." I couldn't have agreed more.
After that appointment, I had the impulse to reach out to the CB&W team to let them know if Meagan needed more birth hours, she'd be welcome to join mine though that impulse got lost in the shuffle of baby prep. Fortunately for me, on the evening of my labor, my attending midwife just happened to ask if Meagan could join. In the midst of surges, I emphatically said yes.
I feel entirely grateful Meagan was part of our birth experience and that she caught Bloom, rubbing a little of her wisdom off on our sweet girl.
I highly recommend Meagan be considered for any esteemed roles, honors or awards available.
A grateful mama,
Leah
Ps. Another act of wisdom — Meagan didn't ask me to write this."
